A RECAP ON A YEAR OF MARRIAGE

Christina & David are celebrating their ONE YEAR of marriage, already! The girls in the CG office put a few questions together for Christina to answer to recap on the last year being married! Here is what she had to say.
P.S. From July 27th - July 31rst the Bridal Collection is 27% off! Promo code: ONEYEAR
My first reaction to the question "How is the first year of marriage" and "How is the first year of marriage different from dating" is the same. I answer this way because David and I lived together when we were engaged and had a long engagement. We were engaged for 14 months. But by the time we said "I do!" we had gotten over those weird months of living together and were used to sharing space. However, the first year of marriage is absolutely a year of growth and year of learning.

The first year of marriage we spent a lot of time traveling and went to some wonderful places such as South Africa for our Honeymoon, spent a lot of time in Crested Butte and are celebrating our anniversary in Cabo. We grew our furry family - Louie gained a little sister, Honey and they love playing chase! It's hard to believe that a year has gone by so quickly.

What have you learned about marriage after being married a year?
The biggest thing I have learned about marriage after being married a year is to over communicate and be patient. You spend a lot of time with your husband (especially during quarantine) and communication is key. Another thing I have learned from friends that have been married is that it Is okay to say the first year is challenging because trust me, at times it can be. And at other times it can be SO MUCH FUN!

- What is your favorite memory of you two from the past year?
Laughing! David and I are really good at having fun together in most situations. We love to have fun together! A favorite memory of mine and I know David would agree is our wedding night (MOST AMAZING NIGHT EVER) but other than that, our honeymoon will forever be a favorite memory for us. It was an experience that was unlike any other experience!

- What's the best thing about being married?
You get to spend the rest of your life with your best friend and you get to go to sleep and wake up by them every day.

- Any advice to someone who is about to get married?
Have fun! Another piece of advice that I like is "Make laughter the soundtrack of your marriage" The first year of marriage has been a unique one with Covid but David and I feel very lucky that we have been able to spend so much time together due to it.

We want to thank all our friends and family for all their love and support. We are surrounded by people who show a testimony of what true love is and look forward to celebrating our anniversary year after year!
